Ocean Whisper Scarf

Hello Friends! It's summer time and since the town I live in is really hot most of the days during this season, I try to choose lighter (preferably a cotton yarn) for my projects, because I feel uncomfortable and hot as the piece grows bigger on my lap. My new design is a mixture between a scarf and a shawl, and I've used the short rows method to reach it. It is actually simple to make; start a long side that you can get by repeating a two rows general pattern, then the second part that you can get by repeating what I've named the Crescent part, at last you go back to the two rows general pattern. You can make it longer if you want to just by knitting more repetitions of the general pattern. The ombre yarn contributed a lot in giving the gorgeous final look because of the beautiful rays of white and blue all over the crescent part and the both sides. I wish have relexifying times making this scarf, and be proud among all eyes on you wearing it!

Overview:

  • Skill level: Intermediate.
  • Instructions style: written pattern + chart.
  • Yarn weight: #2/fine/sport.
  • Available sizes: one size (see detailed measurements below).
  • Size customization: you can make the scarf wider by increasing the number of stitches you cast on. The number of added stitches MUST be a multiple of ten. You can make the scarf longer by repeating the general pattern more times than mentioned in the instructions on both sides of the scarf.

Spring Serenity Shawl

Hello everyone, welcome back to another symmetrical triangle shawl with scalloped edges. What I like to talk to you about is how I make a new Idea and come up with a new design. Usually when I try to knit a new shawl, I go over all the knitting patterns that I got interested in my navigation time and saved their links, then I try to make it suitable for a triangle shape, sometimes I find it possible and other times I don't. I look also for a matching last rows in order to get a wavy or scalloped edges, to give a strong look to the overall shawl. When all are set and decided, the most important last thing that I take into consideration is that the instructions must be simple, clear, and easy to follow for you knitting friends.

This is one of my designs that went through all the phases that I've talked about above. it is medium size shawl that can be taller as you read carefully the note regarding how to get a larger size. It also has a new interesting cast on method that I have tried for the first time, and if you like this shawl you can pick up your yarn and needles and don't waste time to start making it. Have a nice spring times.
