Classic Granny Square Project

This is one of the very first projects that I made which started as a cardigan bu then evolved into a tiny blanket or cover etc. It has 49 classic granny squares in it. I bordered it with double crochets after joining all the squares together and then did a simple shell edging.

(🙋I have some of my patterns (mandala, doily, purse, squareon sale, starting from $1, on my Etsy shop Berayla. If you would like to show your support here is the link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Berayla   I thank you in advance and I God bless you)

I post and share this pattern for both beginner and advenced level crocheters to give an idea or inspire colorwise. Because when I do projects it gets too hard to decide which colors to use, so this will be helpful for people like me :)

Abbreviations
CH = chain
DC = double crochet
RND = round
SC = single crochet
SL = slip
ST = stitch

Begin by making a chain ring, aka a foundation round: chain 4 and then join with a slip stitch to the first chain to form a ring.

RND 1: ch 2 (this counts as your first dc), work 2 dc into center of ring, *ch 2, work 3 dc into center of ring; rep from * twice more, ch 2, join with a sl st to top of beginning ch-2. If changing colors, cut yarn and fasten off. If NOT changing colors, work sl st to corner ch-space — 4 groups of 3 dc sts (12 dc sts total)

RND 2: (attach yarn to any ch-2 corner sp.) Ch 2 (counts as first dc), work 2 dc into same corner sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same space, ch 2, *work [3 dc, ch 2] twice into next corner space; rep from * twice more, join with a sl st to top of beginning ch-2. If changing colors, cut yarn and fasten off. If NOT changing colors, work sl st to corner ch-space — 24 dc sts

RND 3: (attach yarn to any ch-2 corner sp.) Ch 2 (counts as first dc), work 2 dc into same corner sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-sp, ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into next corner sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-sp, ch1; rep from * twice more, join with a sl st to top of beginning ch-2. If changing colors, cut yarn and fasten off. If NOT changing colors, work sl st to corner ch-space — 36 dc sts

RND 4: (attach next color to any corner ch-2 sp.) Ch 2 (counts as first dc), work 2 dc into same corner sp, ch 2, 3 dc in same sp, [ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-sp] twice, ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into next corner sp, [ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-sp] twice, ch1; rep from * twice more, join with a sl st to top of beginning ch-2 — 48 dc sts

Continue in rounds using the same increase manner until you reach desired size which means Keep repeating in the same fashion as Round 3 for each proceeding round by making (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in each corner and 3 dc in each cluster sp between the corners.  – I typically do 5 rounds per square, and there are 5 rounds in these squares also.

Make a border round of dc in each st and then with white color yarn make the edging by:

Row 1: (Right Side): 1sc, *skip 1 st, 5dc into next st, skip 1 st, 1sc into next st; rep from *.

Lilly Winter Puppy Sweater

When you are crocheting for your pet, you need to consider especially his/her comfort in first place. So think of this sweater pattern as a stitch pattern, this is only an example of how it fits and looks on my dog. It is made by using front post double crochet and back post double crochet techniques. Therefore I can say it is a very easy pattern and just adjust your measurements according to your pet's sizes.
