I Want Your Socks – A Parody

Hello everyone, it seems like ages since I’ve wrote anything here, and even longer since I last attempted a parody song, but I have recently beem inspired by some lovley friends I’ve made on Threads.

I have to say that Threads is now firmly my new addiction. It is everything you could (should) want from a social media platform, friendly chat, cat pics and socks. Yes, socks, people love to share pictures of what socks they wear each day in posts called ‘Sock Of The Day’  and the Queen of these sock posts is my lovely friend Sarah-snoop 13.

Another good friend of ours on Threads is the fabulous chris_shift who is the master of pun laden posters. On the day inspiration struck Sarah and Chris were chatting on a thread that referenced some sock pun bands and songs, and I hit on the idea for a parody of George Michael’s ‘I Want Your Sex. Now I have to say this is the longest song I’ve ever parodies (longer even than my parody of Bohemian Rhapsody) but Sarah has a lot if socks so there was plenty of material to work with (socks…. material….. get it?)

So here for you entertainment I give you

Crochet Princess Peach – Free Pattern – Off The Hook

Hello everyone. This week I am sharing the pattern for a crochet Princess Peach. You might be thinking “haven’t I seen this pattern before?” and you would be right. This is one of the first patterns I published many moons ago, and reviewing it recently it shows. I’m glad to say I have honed my pattern writing skills since then, so you should find this easy to follow.

Princess Peach is one of the characters from the Mario Bros game, alongsideDonkey kong Yoshi, Mario and Luigi. I think she would be a superb gift for any child who loves princesses.

Crochet Ludo (from Labyrinth) Free Pattern

Hello everyone. I don’t know about you, but one of my all time favourite films is the 80’s classic Labyrinth (no, it has nothing to do with those trousers………. well maybe just a little). Asides from Jarod, my favourite character is Ludo, so Inwas delighted when asked to design a crochet Ludo for a friend of mine. I think if I were to make him again I would change the colour of yarn to something more rust/red but I have the actual design spot on.

Mr Non Plastic – A Parody ( Mr Boombastic)

Hello everyone, it’s been quite a while since I last sat at the keyboard to write a post. There have been a fair amount of things happen in the last year, some good and some bad. But don’t worry I have no plans to overshare today, instead I’m going to present you another one of my parody songs.

This song was unusually requested by one of my real life friends, the fabulous Vicky Dubs. Vicky has featured in my parody collection before, being the subject of my Pink inspired parody classic So What (I’m Not Old).

This new parody came into being due to Vicky’s yucca plant which has over the Christmas period gained a set of fairy lights, a pair of googly eyes and the new nickname Mr Yucca-Yucca.

Crochet Steam Train – Hogwarts Express – Free Pattern

Hello everyone. One of the things I love about designing crochet things for my friends is they always bring me new and exciting challenges. Back last year one of my friends gave me a challenge I thought I was going to have to pass on. He wanted me to make a crochet Hogwarts Express. Not only that, he wanted it to be a 5 foot long crochet Hogwarts Express!

My initial thought was no way, but then I began to think about it and look at the different shapes that make up the train. I began to play around with some ideas and before long the train was made.

Because of the size of the whole crochet Hogwarts Express I shall be publishing the pattern in 3 seperate posts, the main steam engine, coal truck and carriage. Today I’m sharing the pattern for the main steam engine. You could make this as a one off piece.

Lindor Lindt – The Best Pick n Mix Ever

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a peaceful and safe Christmas. Ours was a quiet one, just Mr A, and myself with a visit from the man-child on christmas day because we’re his support bubble.

One thing that was normal this year was the quality of presents from Mr A. He excelled in getting things he knew I would love, including fluffy penguin pyjamas and a red watering can.

One of the best presents I was given came less from Mr As remarkable gifting skills and more as a result of a great deal of not subtle hinting from me earlier in the year.

“if you don’t buy me some, I will sulk big time”

Thus suitably pushed in the right direction, Mr A purchased me a massive 750g pick and mix box of my favourite Lindt Lindor chocolates.

2020 A Review

Hello everyone and welcome to my review of my 2020.
Christmas decorstion showing 3 faces wearing masks and santa hats stood behind the number 2020, the last 0 being a toilet roll

Well its been quite a year hasn’t it. I was tempted to say its been a roller-coaster of a year, but that would suggest there have been equal amounts of ups and downs. If 2020 were any sort of roller-coaster it would be that one that balances precariously for a few seconds slams you down in a vertical drop.

Crochet Unicorn Applique Christmas Stocking

Hello everyone, today I’m sharing another fabulous Christmas make with you. I initially designed this last year, but didn’t think I would make another one so didn’t write the pattern down. However I was asked to make another one this year, so this time I made certain I record it.

The finished stocking is approx 20 inches long.

Crochet Elf On The Shelf Free Pattern

Hello everyone. I have a proper chrismassy pattern for you today.

Now before we go any further I do have a confession to make. I don’t like the original Elf on the Shelf. I think he’s a sinister looking little bastard who is probably really good friends with Chucky. However I was asked to make one for a friend’s daughter and I wouldn’t let her down.

I think my finished Elf has the look of the original while avoiding the sinister stare.

Crochet Tyrannosaurus Rex Free Pattern

Hello everyone, today I’m sharing with you my pattern for a Tyrannosaurus-Rex. I have to admit I’ve always had a fascination with dinosaurs and have a special love of the T-Rex, just because of Mr A’s obsession with their teeny tiny arms.

With this softie I wanted to get just the right mix of cute and fierce, and I do believe ive achieved it.

10 More Things That Piss Me Off

Hello everyone. Back in 2018 I realised I was turning into a grumpy old woman and to celebrate this fact I wrote the post 15 Things That Piss Me Off.

In the 2 years since that post went live many things have changed. Jeremy kyle is no longer on telly and thanks to covid people chatting in the supermarket aisle is no longer a thing.
However I’m still a grumpy woman a lot of the time, so here are a further 10 things that boil my piss in todays society.

Crochet Blaze Monster Machine Free Pattern

Hello everyone, this week I’m sharing another of my patterns with you. When I was first asked to make Blaze I was a little stumped for no other reason than I hadn’t heard of him before. But I have been reliably informed that it’s a cool cartoon and Blaze is a worthy hero. Although there are a lot if peices involved in making the truck it requires only a basic understanding of crochet techniques, so is a great beginner pattern.

Crochet Piglet Free Pattern

Hello everyone, back in 2018 I was asked to make a Crochet Winnie The Pooh. It was inevitable once he was done that I would end up doing more of the 100 Acre Wood characters because they are a great favourite of everyone. My crochet Piglet pattern is simple to follow but looks super cute when finished.

Crochet Grinch Free Pattern

Hello everyone. Back in December last year one of the big movies out for kids was the updated version of The Grinch. A friend of mine wanted a crochet Grinch for her daughter, because her daughter loved the film. However because she is only a little tot, my friend wanted a friendly looking crochet Grinch.

This is the pattern I came up with. He looks more puzzled than scary which is just how I wanted him.

Why I Don’t Want To Be Happy All The Time
