Fan Pendant

Now this is very similar to the Fan Bracelet so if you enjoyed the look of that one, then complete the set with the matching necklace.

I went a little over board when I first started playing around with the fan stitch and made a lot of items, luckily I remembered to write down what I was doing and take pictures for you guys ^^

here is what you will need

Fine wire (tarnish resistant)  – 28 or 30 gauge  (the larger the gauge, the smaller the wire is, which makes it easier to work with your crochet hook) I used a 30 gauge.

Crochet hook – I used a 3/2 .10 mm hook

3/4 Chain – whichever designs that you like!

Beads – 16 size 6 seed beads and 8 big bead and end beads

Wire pliers– these are not needed but make your life a lot more easy while using the end beads

Scissors – to cut the wire of course (it’s very fine so normal scissors will work)

Step 1

Placing the beads on the wire, because there is a big bead on the bottom you will actually put half of your seed bead, 1 big bead, the rest of the seed beads, then the rest of the big beads.

Step 2

Slipknot and chain 2, (chain 1 with big bead, chain 2) repeat until you are out of big beads, chain 3.

Step 3

Turn your work, single crochet in the stitch second from the hook.

Skip 1 stitch, do a fan cluster [double crochet 9 times in the stitch with the bead (on the 3rd and 6th one add 1 seed bead on the last yarn over before the double crochet is finished) skip the stitches in between the stitches with beads]

Step 4

Twist the chain so that your previous fan cluster is facing downwards (your current bead stitch should be opposite the previous one) and do another fan cluster in the next bead stitch.

Step 5

Do another fan cluster however add a seed bead on the 2,4,6 double crochets.

Step 6

Do half of a fan cluster (5), chain 1, slide 1 seed bead, 1 big bead, and 1 seed bead tightly against the last double crochet, twist the wire so it forms a X, and complete the fan cluster.

Step 7

Do another fan cluster however at the end of the 3rd double crochet slip stitch into the 8th double crochet from the 3rd fan cluster. continue doing the fan cluster adding seed beads to the 4,6,8 double crochets.

Step 8

repeat the fan cluster for the 2 remaining big bead loops.

Step 9

Skip 1 chain and single crochet until you are at the end, fasten off, cut the wire so it it the same length as the tail1. now you will attach it to the chain you can easily just wrap the wire around the chain and weave the tail into your crochet piece or you can add beads to help hold ot together (what ever you like more).

Repeat the same to the other side with a small piece of wire folded in half and wraped around the crochet piece.

You should now have a Fan Pendant! Happy dance!
