Free Crochet Pattern: Curtain Tie Back

No need to purchase a tie back for your curtains when you can crochet your own! This simple pattern uses a shell stitch that is worked around a long chain. There are loops on each end of the tie back for you to secure it onto hooks. Feel free to adjust the length of the tie back if needed by using the instructions within the pattern. Choose a color that will complement your drapes, or perhaps a bold color to make it pop.

Skill Level: crochet skill level easy

Finished Size: 13″ (33 cm) long, 1 1/2″ wide (4 cm)
Note: Length can be adjusted to be as long or short as desired by using the instructions within the pattern.

Materials:
Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 10 yards)
Crochet Hook I (5.50 mm)
crochet yarn size 4

Gauge:
Rows 1 – 2 in pattern measure 13″ long and 1 1/2″ wide.

Crochet Pattern: Curtain Tie Back
Start by chaining 44 or a chain that is the desired length of the tie back. If the length of the chain is adjusted, the number of chains must be a multiple of 6, then add 2 more chains.
Row 1: sc in second ch from hook, *skip 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch, skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * across: 8 sc
Row 2: ch 8, working on opposite side of ch, sc in next ch, *skip 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch, skip 2 ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * across, ch 8, sl st in first sc on row 1: 8 sc

    Hi– could you clarify how you crochet on the opposite side with this pattern. I chained on 8, then am confused as to which stich I need to start on to make the other side of the pattern.
