Bon crochet!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: YARN TIP: Because the slipper is worked in 4 strands (with 2 strands from same color) use strand from both the inside and outside of balls. CROCHET SINGLE CROCHET TOGETHER: Work 2 single crochets together into 1 single crochet as follows: Insert hook in first stitch, pull yarn through, insert hook in next stitch, pull yarn through, make a yarn over and pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Worked back and forth, top down. Work entire piece with 4 strands, 2 strand from each color - read YARN TIP. Work 22-26-26 loose chain stitches on hook size 8 mm / L/11 with 2 strands candy and 2 strands green/turquoise = 4 strands. Work 1 single crochet in 2nd chain stitch from hook, then work 1 single crochet in every chain stitch the entire row = 21-25-25 single crochets. Continue back and forth with 1 single crochet in every single crochet - NOTE: Work 1 chain stitch at beginning of every row before working 1 single crochet in every single crochet, this chain stitch does NOT replace first single crochet. It is in addition to number of stitches. When piece measures 7-7-8 cm / 2 3/4"-2 3/4"-3'', work as follows: ROW 1: Work 2 single crochets in first single crochet, 1 single crochet in each of the next 8-10-10 single crochets, 2 single crochets in next single crochet, 1 chain stitch, skip the next single crochet, 2 single crochets in next single crochet, 1 single crochet in each of the next 8-10-10 single crochets and 2 single crochets in last single crochet, turn piece. ROW 2: Work 1 single crochet in each of the first 12-14-14 single crochets, 7 double crochets around chain stitch and 1 single crochet in each of the last 12-14-14 single crochets = 31-35-35 stitches, turn piece. ROW 3: Work 2 single crochets in first stitch, 1 single crochet in each of the next 13-15-15 stitches, 2 single crochets in next stitch, 1 chain stitch, skip the next single crochet, 2 single crochets in next stitch, 1 single crochet in each of the next 13-15-15 stitches and 2 single crochets in last stitch, turn piece. ROW 4: Work 1 single crochet in each of the first 17-19-19 single crochets, 7 double crochets around chain stitch and 1 single crochet in each of the last 17-19-19 single crochets = 41-45-45 stitches, turn piece. ROW 5: Work 2 single crochets in first stitch, 1 single crochet in each of the next 18-20-20 stitches, 2 single crochets in next stitch, 1 chain stitch, skip the next single crochet, 2 single crochets in next stitch, 1 single crochet in each of the next 18-20-20 stitches and 2 single crochets in last stitch, turn piece. ROW 6: Work 1 single crochet in each of the first 22-24-24 single crochets, 7 double crochets around chain stitch and 1 single crochet in each of the last 22-24-24 single crochets = 51-55-55 stitches, turn piece. Finish increase for size 5/6½ and 7½/9 (EU35/37 and 38/40) here. SIZE 9½/10½ (EU41/43): ROW 7: Work 1 single crochet in each of the next 27 stitches, 1 chain stitch, skip next stitch and work 1 single crochet in each of the next 27 stitches, turn piece. ROW 8: Work 1 single crochet in each of the first 27 single crochets, 7 double crochets around chain stitch and 1 single crochet in each of the last 27 single crochets = 61 stitches, turn piece. ALL SIZES: After last increase there are 51-55-61 stitches on row. Continue back and forth with 1 single crochet in every stitch until 1 row remains before piece measures 17-18-19 cm / 6 3/4"-7"-7½'' (measure straight down along one side of slipper from the straight edge at the top of leg). Now decrease in each side of piece - see CROCHET SINGLE CROCHETS TOGETHER. Work the first 2 single crochets into 1 single crochet, work single crochets until 2 single crochets remain and work these together into 1 single crochet the same way as in the other side = 49-53-59 single crochets. Fasten off. ASSEMBLY: Start under the foot at the front of toe. Sew together edge to edge in outer loops of edge stitches to avoid a chunky seam. Sew together mid under foot, up along the heel mid back and to the top of the slipper. Fasten off. Work another slipper the same way. |
