Seat Belt Cover – Free Crochet Pattern

I created this pattern specifically for myself. I kept getting tired of the seat belt rubbing my neck. Even when I adjust the seat belt and put it as low as it will go, it’s still too high. Or, either I’m too short, lol.

Ok, so this may be #shortgirlproblem 1,743 BUT, I don’t think that I’m the only shortie with this problem, am I right? So, what better way to solve a problem than with crochet! This is a super quick project that works up super fast.

I used Lion Brand Flikka in Grape Jelly. Purple is my favorite color and this yarn was perfect for this project. It’s a cotton and polyester blend yarn, so it’s durable and soft.

I love quick and easy crochet projects. Especially ones that are super useful and this is definitely one of them!

I use this seat belt cover all the time and never take it out of my car. Sometimes, it’s the little things that help the most.

Things you will need:

• Lion Brand Flikka in Grape Jelly
• #5.00mm / H Hook
• (4) Buttons (mine were ¾’’ in diameter, although I might prefer some a little bigger)
• Black Floss for attaching the buttons
• Yarn Needle

Abbreviation:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• st = stitch (es)
• Sl st = slip stitch

Go!

Row 1: ch 38, dc in 3rd st from hook and in each st across (36)

Row 2-11: ch 2, dc in each st across (36)

Ch 1, sc evenly around all edges placing 2 sc in each corner, sl st into 1st sc. Cut yarn and weave in ends

Evenly sew the 4 buttons across one of the long sides of the cover using the black floss.

The buttons will just push through in between the stitches to close the cover.
