Crochet Holland Beanie

On April 27th, there is a holiday here in The Netherlands that is called Koningsdag, which simply means King’s Day.

As the name says, King’s Day is the day of the king, meaning that everybody in the Netherlands celebrates the king’s birthday. And you can be sure that everyone will be partying since this day is a national holiday!

King’s Day is actually a very fun day and it is perfect to know the Dutchies a bit better. The entire country just stops for one day and turns into a stream of people dancing in the streets, sailing along the canals, or sitting at cafes. The main ingredients of this day are fun, music, enjoying, and above all wearing something red, white, blue, and ORANGE! See the picture below if you don’t believe me!

This year, to celebrate the king in my own way, I thought of crocheting this Holland Beanie, the perfect accessory to keep kids warm while partying all day in the windy Netherlands!

The cool thing about this beanie is that it can be easily adapted to any Country or occasion. All you’ll have to do is to play around with your colors.

The Crochet Holland Baby Beanie is also an ideal project if you have never tried your hand at beanies before. The easy stitch pattern, mostly consisting of half double crochet, allows you to fully focus on understanding and learning the construction of a top-down crochet beanie.
