Crochet Strawberry Pacifier Clip - Raffamusa Designs

A pacifier clip is essentially a clip linked to a short cord that you can attach to your baby’s dummy.

The main function of a pacifier clip is to be clipped to your baby’s clothes or somewhere safe, like the side of the stroller, and keep your baby’s dummy clean by avoiding dropping it on the ground.

The extra benefit of using a clip is also not losing the dummy.

How Safe is your Crochet Pacifier Clip?

Crocheted pacifier clips can be safe to use for babies and children when made with the right materials.

Here are a few things to keep in mind for making a safe pacifier clip:

  • Only use natural materials, including for stuffing (instead of Fiberfill, you can use pure, organic wool stuffing)
  • Buy supplies that are specifically produced for baby toys. Avoid plastic and treated wood.
  • Preferably, use 100% cotton yarn.
  • Pay extra attention to loose parts that could be swallowed by babies and children (make sure to secure all the smaller pieces and avoid buttons, small beads, and plastic eyes).

Moreover, keep in mind that you should never leave the pacifier clip attached to your baby’s clothes at night or while they’re sleeping in order to avoid any strangulation hazard.

With these rules in mind, let’s dive into this crochet Strawberry Pacifier Clip pattern!

Pacifier Clip Assembly

Cut a piece of rope of about 25″ (64 cm).

Thread both ends of the rope through the large strawberry making sure not to pull the closed loop of the rope through (photo 1).

If the rope is thick and it is hard to thread through the Amigurumi, try threading one end at a time!

How to assemble the Strawberry Pacifier Clip - Raffamusa Designs

Secure the closed loop of the rope by making a cow hitch around the dummy fastener holder as follows:

  • Insert the loop through the ring of the dummy holder from the front to the back (photo 2).
  • Pass both ends of the cord and the strawberry through the loop (photo 3).
  • Pull tightly (photo 4).
How to make a cow hitch knot - Raffamusa Designs

Thread the free ends of the rope through the remaining beads and Amigurumi in this order:

  • Wooden bead;
  • Green ball;
  • Wooden bead;
  • Bee;
  • Wooden bead;
  • Small strawberry.

Hold the two loose ends of the cord head to head in front of each other (photo 5) and join them by burning them with a lighter (photo 6).

Burn the ends of the cord to form a loop - Raffamusa Designs

Loosen the initial cow hitch (photo 7) and adjust the cord so that the burned ends are hidden inside the small strawberry.

Assembly of the Strawberry Pacifier Clip - Raffamusa Designs

Tighten the cow hitch again and adjust the spacing of the beads and Amigurumi.

Make a simple knot below the small strawberry, and secure the knot by burning it with the lighter just slightly.
