Jacob’s ladder crochet is used in the Twisted Strands Wrap to add texture and show off the lovely Cascade 220 Superwash Wave yarn. It has rounded ends finished off with a long braided tassel. This wrap is a wonderful way to dress up and warm up your outfit. Though this pattern is listed as intermediate, a confident beginner could complete it.

Getting Started:
This pattern is worked in rows. It will look odd if you are not familiar with the Jacob’s ladder crochet stitch. The sets of chains that will be looped together in the end will create a very ruffled look. Just take the pattern one row at a time. Increases
Row 1: Ch 11 (counts as first ch, dc, ch 7), [(dc, ch 7) 4 times, dc] all in the first ch made. – {6 dc}
Row 2: Turn, ch 10 (counts as first dc and ch 7 here and throughout), (dc, ch 7, dc) in next dc, [ch 7, dc in next dc] 2 times, ch 7, (dc, ch 7, dc) in next dc, ch 7, dc in 4th ch of starting ch-11 from previous row. – {8 dc}
Row 3: Turn, ch 10, [2 dc in next dc, ch 7] 6 times, dc in 3rd ch of starting ch-10 from previous row. – {14 dc}

Do not cut yarn or finish off in any way.
Finishing:
Remove the hook form the loop and place a stitch marker in the loop to keep it from pulling through. Now it’s time to loop the Jacob’s ladder crochet stitches.
Look at the start of the wrap. There are 5 ch-7s that start in row 1, and 2 more that start in row 2. Take one of the bottom loops and twist it half a turn. Place the loop you just created on a large hook (size N or M) and pull the next ch-7 from the next row through the loop (do not twist this one) making a chain, continue making the chain with the ch-7 in the next row, and so on all the way to the last ch-7 from the final decrease row, place this loop on the safety pin.
Repeat last step with remaining 6 sets of ch-7s, placing the final loop on the safety pin each time. You will have 7 loops at the end of the wrap, all on the safety pin.
Remove the loop from the stitch marker and place it back on the smaller hook. Ch 3, place all 7 loops from the safety pin onto the hook and make a slip stitch to hold them all together, ch 1 and make one more slip stich through all 7 loops, ch 1. Clip the yarn and fasten off.
Weave in all ends.
Tassels:
Cut 37 strands of yarn each 1 yard (3’) long. Take one piece, fold it in half and tie it around the middle of the remaining bundle of yarn. Leave the ends of the tie piece hanging free to attach the tassel to the wrap. Fold the bundle where it is tied, divide it into thirds and braid it for 4”. Cut one more long piece of yarn and wrap it around the bottom of the braid for ½ to ¾”, fasten the ends. Cut the ends of the tassel so they are 6” long below the wrapped section. Secure the tassel to one end of the wrap and repeat for the second tassel.
