I know I am a bit late with the fall decoration patterns, and Halloween has just happened. Nonetheless, this little pumpkin turned out so pretty that I really wanted to share it!

The Tunisian crochet Puffy Pumpkin combines some of my favorite things ever:

  • Tunisian Crochet
  • Puffs and Texture
  • Home Decor
  • Fall and Halloween Vibes

If you feel intimidated by Tunisian crochet puffs, please, don’t! All you need to know is the basic Tunisian crochet. From there, learning to make puffs is super easy!

Assembly

Step 1. Wrong side facing, seam the two short sides of the pumpkin with the mattress stitch or your preferred sewing method.

How to assemble your pumpkin.

Step 2. Using a length of yarn of about 20″ (50 cm), cinch one of the open ends closed.

Draw your tapestry needle through the top chains going first from outside to inside and then from inside to outside. Once you have gone through all the sts, pull the yarn tightly to close the bottom.

Step 3. Fill the pumpkin with fiberfill or cotton stuffing.

Step 4. Repeat step 2 for the top side of the pumpkin.

Step 5. Once the pumpkin is close on both sides, shape it by drawing the yarn in circles around its circumference. Since there are 10 columns of puff sts, make sure to pass the yarn in the space between each of them.

Step 6. Secure your yarn and tie it off.

Step 7. Decorate your pumpkin by placing a little twig or a cinnamon stick directly in the middle.
