In addition to these egg warmers, I’ve made a pattern for matching pot holders as well.
The Yarn
To crochet these egg warmers I used an unbranded variegated yarn that I’ve got in my stash from way back. However getting the exact brand isn’t necessary.
Use whatever you already have in your yarn stash.
If I were to suggest anything, I would say either 24/7 Cotton from Lion Brand Yarn.

Yarn
Yarn used:
Pictured is an unbranded yarn I had in my stash.
Suggested alternative:
- 24/7 Cotton from Lion Brand Yarn
Yarn amount used:
Less than one skein per egg warmer.
Yarn characteristics:
- 4 medium yarn
- 100 % cotton

- Needle, find one here (if you don’t already have one)!
Gauge
Measured on dc crocheted in rows:
15 stitches & 10 rows per 10 cm / 4”.
Notes
- This crochet pattern is written in US terms.
- All measurements given are unblocked.
- Note that measurements are given as exact as possible. But crochet tension & technique might give variations in the result, that changes from person to person.
- Read pattern instructions carefully before beginning to make sure you understand everything. It might save you hours frogging your work & crocheting it again!
- Make a swatch that measure at least 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches using the stitch the gauge is given for. If your swatch matches the gauge, you’re good to go. If the gauge is wrong, you might need to change your hook. Go up in crochet hook size if your stitches are smaller & go down in crochet hook size if your stitches are bigger. Ch 6, sl st in 1st st making ring.
Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc), dc 12 in ring, sl st in 2nd ch from beginning of round (=13 st).
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc), *dc 1 in next st, dc 2 in next st*, repeat from *to*, sl st in 1st st (=19 st).
Round 3: Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc), *dc 2 in next st, dc 1 in next 5 st*, repeat from *to*, sl st in 1st st (=22 st).
Round 4-5: Ch 2 (counts as 1st dc), dc 1 in each st from prev round, sl st in 1st st (22 st).
Round 6: Sl st in each st from prev round.
Fasten off & cut yarn.
