Abbreviations UK
RS.
     Right Side

ch.       Chain
dc.       Double Crochet
tr.        Treble Crochet
ss.       Slip Stitch
rpt.      Repeat
BLO.    Back Loop Only

Base of ch. Work into first stitch.

2ch counts as first tr.

Teapot size approx:  2 pint or 1.2 litre

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

35 grams of King Cole Comfort aran in colour 1
5 grams of King Cole Comfort aran in each of the colours 2, 3, 4 & 5

4.50mm Clover Soft Touch Crochet Hook

TENSION – 4tr & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

Make 2 pieces the same work into BLO (see abbrev) throughout.

With colour 1 make 25ch, (RS) work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. Fasten off. Turn. (22tr + 3ch)

Join in colour 2 with a ss.

2nd Row – 2ch, work 1tr into base of 2ch, 1tr into each tr to end. Fasten off. Turn.

3rd Row – Join in colour 1 with a ss, rpt 2nd Row. Fasten off. Turn.

Alternating the four colours with colour 1, rpt 2nd Row until thirteen rows have been worked in all.

Using colour 1 make a medium size pom-pom, (I used Clover pom-pom maker number 65)

Assemble – Place right sides together, (see pic) leaving a space for the spout and the handle whip stitch along the short edges.

Gathering Top and Edging Bottom

Working into row ends along the top of cosy, gather rows tightly (see pic) by running a length of yarn through alternate rows, tie ends to secure.

Join colour 1 to bottom of cosy with a ss, starting with 1ch, work 2dc into each row end to end, ss to first dc. Turn.

Work 3 more rows in dc, slip stitching and turning at the end of each row (see pic). Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach pom-pom to gathered edge.
