Crochet Easy Small Pouch

Hello Crochet Friends!

Today’s crochet pattern is the Crochet Easy Small Pouch which can be crocheted in cotton or other worsted yarn and a G hook. You will have fun with this Crochet Easy Small Pouch as it covers single crochet, half double and double crochet along with a back loop stitch.

Materials

   2 colors cotton or worsted yarn

   Hook size G

Size  4 ½” x 6”

Abbreviations (US terms)

  Sl st – slip stitch

  Ch – chain stitch

  Sc – single crochet

  Hdc – half double crochet

  Dc – double crochet

  ** – repeat the pattern between the **

  ( ) – number of stitches at end of row or round

Notes 

1. back loop only stitch in round 5
2. to make a longer cord, add more chains

Pattern

Ch 4, join with slip stitch to 1^st chain to form circle

Round 1:  ch 1, 8 hdc in circle.  Join with sl st to ch 1 (8)

Round 2:  ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around.  Join with sl st to ch 1  (16)

Round 3:  ch 1, hdc in 1^st st, 2 hdc in next st, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next* around.  Join with sl st to ch 1   (24)

Round 4:  ch 1, hdc in 1^st st, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next, *hdc in next 2 st, 2 hdc in next* around. Join with sl st to ch 1   (32)

Round 5:  ch 1, hdc in back loop only in each st around (32)

Round 6:  ch 1, hdc in each st around (32)

Round 7:  ch 1, sc in each st around (32)

Round 8:  ch 2, dc in each st around (32)

Round 9:  ch 1, * sc, 5 dc in same st, skip 1 st, sc, skip 1 st* around (8 clusters) Join with sl st to ch 2

Round 10:  *ch 1, skip 2 st, sc in next (3^rd st in 5dc cluster), ch 1, skip 2, sc in next st* around, ending with sc in last sc from previous row.  Join with sl st to ch 1.  (32)

Round 11:  ch 1, sc in ch, sc in sc (32)  change color

Round 12:  ch 1, hdc in each st around.  Join with sl st to ch 1  (32)

Round 13:  ch 2, dc in each st around.  Join with sl st to ch 2  (32)

Round 14:  ch 1, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st to ch 1  (32)  change color

Round 15:  ch 2, dc in each st around.  Join with sl st to ch 2 (32)

Round 16:  ch 2, dc in 1^st st, skip 1 st, ch 1, dc in next st, *skip 1 st, ch 1, dc in next st* around.  Join with sl st to ch 2. 

Round 17:  ch 1, *hdc in dc, hdc in chain, hdc in next* Join with sl st to ch 1 

Round 18:  ch 2, dc in each st around.  Join with sl st to ch 2  (32)

Round 19:  ch 1, sc in each st around.  Join with sl st to ch 1  (32)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Cord

Chain 100 or approximately 22”.  Sl st in 2^nd ch from hook and in each chain to end.  Fasten off and weave in ends.

Weave cord through spaces of Round 15 and tie a bow
