Easy Soft Plush Crochet Frog Baby Hat


Its always so fun to whip up Crochet Baby Projects. They turn up so cute and adorable, be it Crochet Hat, Blanket or Cardigans. One of my favorite projects to make are those cute adorable Crochet Baby Hats. There are so many themes you can apply to those Hats. Flowers, Animals , Seasonal , Characters are some of the themes you can crochet.

Today I am sharing the Pattern for a  Easy Soft Plush Crochet Frog Baby Beanie Hat . I have used Plush yarn for this hat which makes it even more soft and comfy. You can use any yarn of your choice. This frog hat is a fun and easy crochet animal project. Make them for your own child or as a gift for baby showers and these would make a wonderful Photo Prop.




Materials Used:-
For Hat:-
Blanket Yarn
7mm Crochet Hook

For Eyes:-
4 Ply Yarn(White and Black)
4mm Crochet Hook

Notes:-
For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch)
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
12 Stitches.

Round 2:-
Chain 2.
2 Double Crochets in each stitch around.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
24 stitches.

Round 3:-
Chain 2. 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC, 2DC).
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
36 Stitches.

Round 4 Onwards:-
Chain 2. 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Double Crochet in each stitch around.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
Repeat 1 Double Crochet in each stitch around untill the size needed.

Eyes:- with same yarn as the hat- Make 2
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2(Not Counted as a Stitch)
10 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Do not slip stitch. It will form a Semi Circle shape.
Leave a long tail end to sew it on the hat.

For Eyeball:-With Black and White Color Yarn - Make 2
Start with a Magic Circle.
Chain 2(Not Counted as a Stitch)
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
12 Stitches.
Sew the reflection points with White Color Yarn

Assembling:-
Sew the Eyeballs on the Eyes with a yarn needle.
Use the long tail end to attach the eyes to the hat.



Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
CH2(Not Counted as a stitch)
12 DCs in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
SL on top of the first DC.
12 Stitches.

Round 2:-
CH2.
2 DCs in each stitch around.
SL on top of the first DC.
24 stitches.

Round 3:-
CH2. 1 DC in the same stitch.
2 DCs in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC, 2DC).
SL on top of the first DC.
36 Stitches.

Round 4 Onwards:-
CH2. 1 DC in the same stitch.
1 DC in each stitch around.
SL on top of the first DC.
Repeat 1 DC in each stitch around untill the size needed.

Eyes:- with same yarn as the hat- Make 2
Start with a Magic Circle.
CH2(Not Counted as a Stitch)
10 DCs in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Do not SL. It will form a Semi Circle shape.
Leave a long tail end to sew it on the hat.

For Eyeball:-With Black and White Color Yarn - Make 2
Start with a Magic Circle.
CH2(Not Counted as a Stitch)
12 DCs in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
SL on top of the first DC.
12 Stitches.
Sew the reflection points with White Color Yarn

Assembling:-
Sew the Eyeballs on the Eyes with a yarn needle.
Use the long tail end to attach the eyes to the hat.
