Fall Beanie


Free Crochet Pattern for American Girl and 18″ Dolls. Fall is just around the corner and it’s the perfect time to break out all your hand made accessories for you and you doll!

What you will need:

  • #3 DK Yarn-Knit Picks Swish 1 skein in Moss
  • E (3.5 mm) hook
  • Row counter
  • Stitch marker
  • 2.5″ diameter fur pom
  • Scissors

Gauge: 20 dc over 10 rows=4″ square

Notes and Tips:

  • Pattern is worked in the round. You will chain 2 at the beginning of each round. Place marker in the second chain which you will join with at the end of the round.

Stitch Abbreviations:

  • Ch-chain
  • Dc-double crochet
  • Sl st-slip stitch
  • fpdc-front post double crochet
  • bpdc-back post double crochet

Directions

Ch 3. Sl st to the first ch to create a ring.

Row 1. Ch 2, work 10 dc into the center of the ring. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (10 dc)

Row 2. Ch 2, work 2 dc in each st around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (20 dc)

Row 3. Ch 2, *dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (30 dc)

Row 4. Ch 2, *dc in the next 2 sts, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (40 dc)

Row 5. Ch 2, *dc in the next 4 sts, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (48 dc)

Row 6. Ch 2, *dc in the next 5 sts, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (56 dc)

Row 7. Ch 2, *dc in the next 6 sts, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (64 dc)

Row 8-10. Ch 2, dc in each st around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (64 dc)

Row 11-12. Ch 2, *fpdc in the next 2 sts, bpdc in the next 2 sts. Repeat from * around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (64 sts)

Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Sew fur pom to the top of the hat.

  1. It’s a nice pattern. But why are the instructions so spread out? I t would have fit on half as many pages if it weren’t for all that double and empty space.
