Bellflower Cardigan
Crochet Baby Cardigan Pattern by OneLittleHook
The Bellflower Cardigan is a sweet and surprisingly easy crochet cardigan inspired by my Marshmallow Clouds baby blanket pattern. Gorgeous texture and frilly ruffles make it the perfect garden party, photo shoot, church visit, or everyday glam garment! Pattern Notes
- This pattern is worked top down. The body of the cardigan is crocheted first including the ribbed bottom edge, the ruffle trim next, then the sleeves last. The body section has a row that says {mark this st}. These marks are where you join the sleeves so they should stay marked until you come to the sleeve section.
- Turning chains do not count as stitches.
- Ch-2 sp refers to the previous row’s ch 2.
- Repeat directions in brackets [ ] the total number of times indicated.
- Stitches in parenthesis ( ) are worked into the same stitch.
- If weaving ends as you go, I would advise leaving the tail of the starting chain free until you are finished. This will help with cardigan orientation while crocheting. The starting chain tail will always be on the top right while you are facing the garment.
- Arms are worked in joined rows. This creates a sleeve without seaming while maintaining the same stitch pattern as the body of the cardigan.

Ruffle Trim
- SC evenly across edges that form the front, left opening (the wearer’s left side). BPSC around the foundation double crochet row. SC evenly across edges that form the front, right opening. Cut yarn and fasten off. Join new yarn in the first SC made in the ruffle trim section. Work 3 DC in each SC around (up left side, around collar, and down right side). Cut yarn and fasten off.
Sleeves
- Sleeve instructions are worked the same for both arms.
- Position the cardigan right side out with the opening facing towards you, the collar at the top, and the ribbing at the bottom.
- Starting on either arm, join yarn in the right most marked stitch.
