The Yarn
The suggested yarn for this crochet hexagon sweater is a variegated yarn called Landscapes Fusion from Lion Brand Yarn.
It’s a beautiful yarn, with lots of color variations in just one skein.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure if combining many colors for a project like this would work. But after deciding on which colors gave the most contrast & at the same time worked together, I’m quite happy with the result.
However, if you’d like to work with solid color yarns, I’m sure that will also make a beautiful hexagon crochet pullover with stripes in the end.

The name of the Hexagon used in this crochet pattern is the African Flower Hexagon. It’s a beautiful crocheted hexagon, that you can use in projects, almost as you’d use Granny Squares.
What’s most fun about this crochet sweater pattern is the fact that you combine two halves to make it. You’ll have fun creating the African Flower Hexagon for the first half, then creating striping double crochet panels for the second.
Finally, you’ll need to assemble the pieces, but with the detailed diagram, it’s not difficult.

How Long Does It Take To Crochet That?
How long it takes to crochet something varies depending on your skill & how fast you crochet. But that isn’t a helpful answer is it?
Well, I’ve developed a yarn calculator to help you get the answer to this question.
It will help you calculate exactly how much time you’ll spend crocheting a project.
All you need to know is how much yarn you will use on the project in either meters, yards or skeins. Then crochet your test square & time it.
Calculate how long it takes to crochet that.
