Design 

The Lucie Blanket features some really easy crochet stitches and is such a beautiful design especially done is rainbow colors like i have crocheted it in. This is a 6 row repeat but it is actually really easy to follow and remember and because this blanket pattern is made up of mainly double crochet stitches it makes it really quick blanket to crochet up even if it is done in DK yarn. Perfect for beginners and for the more advanced crocheter.

For this blanket i used the Stylecraft Special DK which is such a dream to work with, it comes in some really bright and vibrant colors which are so modern and perfect for babies and around the home. This yarn is really soft for an acrylic yarn which i love and it’s really affordable too.

R1. Ch140, 1dc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (139dc)

R2. Ch1, 1dc in first 3dc, ch1, skip next dc * 1dc in next 2dc, ch1, skip next dc * Repeat across until last 3dc, 1dc in last 3dc, turn

R3. Ch1, 1dc in each dc across and 1dc in each ch1 space across, turn (139dc)

R4. Ch1, 2dc in first dc, skip next 2dc * Work (1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next dc, skip next 2dc * Repeat across until last dc, 2dc in last dc, turn

R5. Ch1, 1dc in each dc across and 1dc in each ch1 space across, turn (139dc)

R6. Ch1, 2dc in first dc, skip next 2dc * Work (1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next dc, skip next 2dc * Repeat across until last dc, 2dc in last dc, turn

R7. Ch1, 1dc in each dc across and 1dc in each ch1 space across, turn (139dc)

Repeat rows 2-7 until blanket measures 30 inches approx finishing on row 3, 5 or 7. Move on to border (Optional).

Border (Optional):

R1. Join white yarn, Work 1sc evenly around the entire blanket, working (1sc, ch1, 1sc) into each corner of the blanket, join with a slip stitch to beg sc

R2. Ch1, 1sc in each sc around, working 3sc in each ch1 corner space, join with a slip stitch to beg sc, fasten off

R3. Join wisteria yarn, work 1sc in reverse (1sc backwards) around the entire blanket
