Body
Ch 16. Use
st marker
Rnd 1: 2 sc in next ch, 1 sc in next 14 ch’s, 3 sc in next ch. Turn
continue along other side of chain, 1 sc in next 15 ch.
Rnd 2: 1 sc in next
st, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 14 sts, 2 sc in next 2 st’s, 1 sc to st maker.
Rnd 3: 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 14 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, 1 sc to st marker.
Rnd 4: 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 18 sts, 2 sc in next 2 sts, 1 sc to st marker.
Rnd 5: 1 sc in each st.
Rnd 6: In black, 1 sc in back loops only.
Rnd 7: Star Stitch in back loops only, (A complete start stitch pattern is made of 2 rounds of crochet, Star Bottom and Star Top)
Star St Bottom
Ch 4, Insert your hook into the second chain from the hook. Yarn over and pull a loop through.
This is the beginning of a single crochet stitch, but instead of completing the entire stitch, leave the loop on the hook. Insert your hook into the next chain, yarn over and pull through. There are now three loops on the hook. Continue to insert your hook into subsequent chains, yarning over and pulling through until there are six loops on your hook. With six loops on your hook, yarn over one more time and pull through all six loops. Chain one. This finishes the star.
Next, insert your hook into the "eye" (the ch 1) that you just made. Yarn over and pull through. There will now be two loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the space between the two last "spikes" from the first "star." Yarn over and pull through. There will be three loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the same chain where you worked the last stitch of the previous star. Yarn over and pull through. There will now be four loops on your hook. Insert your hook into the next chain, yarn over and pull through. Repeat in the next chain. This will give you six loops on your hook. Finish this second star as you did the first one. Yarn over and pull through all six loops on the hook. Chain one to close the second star.
Repeat the steps above to make stars all the way across the row.

Between each Star st work 2 hdc
Repeat Rnd 6-7 until the Satchel in as long as you like.
Handles
Round 1: Ch 1 sc in the next 7 st’s, ch 10, skip 10, sc in the next 14 st’s, ch 10, skip 10, sc to your ch 1 sl st to end.
Round 2: Ch 1, sc to ch 10 space, put 10 sc into your ch 10 space, sc to next ch 10 space, put 10 sc into your ch 10 space, sc to ch 1 slip stitch to end.
Round 3: Ch1, 1 sc into each st, sl st to end.
Straps
Ch 8 + 1, 1 sc in each st, turn ch 1, repeat, continue until strap is as long as you like. Then sew on the strap start at the bottom side.
