Springtime Crochet Placemat Easy Crochet Pattern and Tutorial




Handmade Crochet placemat patterns are the perfect way to make your kitchen or dining room table look special. Crochet Placemat Patterns are so fun to make. Here is a very easy and quick pattern for Springtime Crochet Placemat. The colors Pink and Green speak bright and fresh Spring, hence the name Springtime Crochet Placemat. This is an easy crochet pattern that works up quickly. You can easily adjust the size of the placemat to your liking. Make them for your own table setting and they would also make perfect gifts for your loved ones.




Materials Used:-
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook

10 inches- Customizable to any size

Let's Start...!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 39 + 3 Chains for the turning chain.
This measures around 9 inches.
You can adjust the size of the placemat by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any multiple of 3 + 3  chains extra for the turning chain.


Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the Fourth Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 3 and turn.





Round 3:-
Skip 2 stitches.
1 Single Crochet.
Chain 3
Repeat(Skip 2, Chain 3, 1 SC)
Once you reach the end, Chain 3 and turn.







Round 4:-
3 Double Crochets in the first stitch(i.e. the Single Crochet from the previous round)
Skip the Chain 3 space.
1 Single Crochet into the next Single Crochet.
Chain 3 and 3 Double Crochets in the same stitch.
Repeat((1 SC, Chain 3, 3DC)- all in the same stitch) in each of the SC .
1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Chain 5 and turn.







Round 5:-
Skip the 3 Double Crochets.
1 Single Crochet into the Chain 3 Space.
Chain 3.
Repeat(1 SC(into the Ch3 Space), Chain 3)
Once you reach the end Chain 3 and turn.







Round 6 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 4 and Round 5 untill its around 8 inches in size.
If you wish to make a rectangular place mat, then repeat few more rounds untill its in rectangle shape.
The 2nd last round should be a repeat of Round 5.
Chain 2 and turn. 














Second Last Round:-
3 Double Crochets in each of the Chain 3 spaces.
Change yarn color while making the last Double Crochet.




Border:-
Start working on the sides of the placemat.
3 Double Crochets in each of the Chain 3 space untill you reach the corner.
Put in 3 Double Crochets in the stitch just before the corner stitch as well.
3 Double Crochets in the Corner stitch.
1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill the next corner.
Repeat the same for the remaining 2 sides of the placemat.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet and weave off. 







 Here is the Summary of the Pattern:-

1 SC into the Ch 3 Space.
Ch 3.
Repeat(1 SC(into the Ch3 Space), Ch 3)
Once you reach the end Ch 3 and turn.
