FREE PATTERN: Crochet Butterfly Top

This pattern was not fully designed by me, I just analyzed photos of tops others were selling and decided to create a free pattern for everyone!

This is my first time writing a pattern, so please let me know if you have questions or think I should change something!

I absolutely love this butterfly top. Trust me when I say it truly makes you feel like a fairy princess! This top is, unfortunately, a "one size fits all", so feel free to add more rows in different sections if needed.

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Double Crochet (dc)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Stitch (st)

Increase Double Crochet (inc dc)

Materials:

Size F/5-3.75 mm crochet hook

Medium weight yarn (4) - 147 yards/135 m

Scissors

This pattern is worked from the middle of the shirt (the body of the butterfly) and then the wings of the butterfly are added to the body.

Fasten off.

Repeat Butterfly Wing on the other side of the butterfly's body and then weave in all ends.

If you want more coverage, you can sew the top and bottom of the butterfly's body onto the upper and lower wing. See the photo for details.

The bottom of the body would sew onto somewhere on the lower wings, as shown in the photos.

The Straps:

The straps that are ch 100 that are attached to the body will tie around your neck.

The straps that are ch 250 first cross over the back and are put in the top butterfly wing's farthest opening hole. Then they cross over again to the lower

butterfly wing's farthest opening hole. Then the two strands are tied together.

Please refer to the images below.

Now you should be done! As I said, please make sure to let me know if you see any errors or things that don't fully make sense. This is the first pattern I've written out, so no feelings will be hurt! Please post and tag me in your creations, I would love to see them!
