How To Crochet Fall Blanket

Crochet blankets are always a popular choice for all crocheters. They are the most  versatile project  among most of the crochet projects. Crocheted Blankets can be customized to your liking. You can make them in any size of your need and you can easily color code them according to any holiday season.

Here is a crochet blanket pattern that would be perfect to whip up for this fall season.
The color of the cake yarn I used for this blanket definitely says Fall Season, hence the name Crochet Fall Blanket. You can always change up the colors to your liking.

The stitches used for this blanket are simple . The Double Crochets and the Front Post Single Crochets worked together gives the finished blanket a pretty textured look.

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 96.
This measures around 36 inches.
You can adjust the size of the blanket by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any multiple of 4.

Round 2:-
2 Double Crochets in the 2nd Chain from the hook.
Skip 3 stitches.
In the next stitch make - (1 Single Crochet , Chain 1, 3 Double Crochets) - all in the same stitch.
Repeat((1SC, Ch1, 3DC)- all in same stitch, Skip 3 Sts).
1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.

Round 3:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
2 Double Crochets in the first stitch - That's total 3 Double Crochets including the Turning Chain.
Skip the next 2 Double Crochets.
In the 3rd Double Crochet , make 1 Front Post Single Crochet.
Chain 1.
3 Double Crochets in the Chain 1 space from the previous round.
Repeat(Skip 2 DC's ,1 FPSC, Ch 1, 3DC(in the Ch 1 Space)).
1 Single Crochet in the last stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain mentioned in Round 2  to make the turning chain.

Round 4 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 3 untill the size needed and weave off.
