Materials

• #4 Worsted Yarn
• E (3.50 mm) hook
• Row counter
• Stitch markers
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• 2” diameter fur pom

Yarn

• Red-Knit Picks Wool of the Andes 1 skein in Red 

Gauge 22 dc over 10 rows=4” square

• Sc-single crochet
• Hdc-half double crochet
• Dc-double crochet
• Inc-increase
• Dec-decrease
• Sl st-slip stitch
• St-stitch
• Ch-chain
• Dc2tog-double crochet two together

Directions

With red, ch 3. Sl st to the first ch to create a ring. You will join to the top ch for each round. Place marker in the top of the beginning ch 2. 

Row 1. Ch 2, work 14 dc into the center of the ring. Sl st in the top of the beginning ch 2. (14 dc)

Row 2. Ch 2, work 2 dc in each st around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (28 dc)

Row 3. Ch 2, *dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st in the top of the beginning ch 2. (42 dc)

Row 4. Ch 2, *dc in the next 2 sts, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st in the top of the beginning ch 2. (56 dc)

Row 5. Ch 2, *dc in the next 3 sts, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st in the top of the beginning ch 2. (70 dc)

Row 6. Ch 2, *dc in the next 4 sts, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st in the top of the beginning ch 2. (84 dc)

Row 7-8. Ch 2, dc in each st around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. (84 dc)

Row 9. Ch 2, *dc in the next 4 sts, dc2tog. Repeat from * around. Sl st in the top of the beginning ch 2. (70 dc)

Row 10. Ch 2, *dc in the next 3 sts, dc2tog. Repeat from * around. Sl st in the top of the beginning ch 2. (56 dc)

Fasten off. Weave in ends. 

Pom

Sew a 2” diameter furry pom pom to the top center of the beret. Weave in ends.
