After I published the original Aromatherapy Cloth pattern , I decided to make a cute little heart shaped one.

Materials Needed:

Cotton yarn: 1 skein will make several hearts.

3.5mm Hook

Stitches Used

Single Crochet

Slip stitch

Treble Crochet

How to Treble Crochet:

Just in case you have not yet learned how to Treble Crochet:

Step 1: Yarn Over the hook twice

Step 2: Insert hook into the stitch, yarn over hook and pull through stitch. You will now have 4 loops on your hook.

Step 3: Yarn over hook and pull through the first 2 loops, You will now have 3 loops remaining on the hook.

Step 4: Yarn over hook and pull through the first 2 loops on the hook, You will now have 2 loops remaining on the hook.

Step 5: Yarn over hook and pull through the remaining 2 loops on the hook. You will have 1 loop left and the treble stitch is completed.

Heart Shaped Aromatherapy Cloth

Chain 10

Foundation row: HDC in 2nd chain from hook, HDC in the next 8 Chains. You will have 9 HDC

Row 2: Chain 1, Turn, HDC in each stitch across. You will have 9 HDC

Rows 3-6: Repeat Row 2: Four times.

We will now begin making the top part of the hearts. ( you will be working in a round for this section.

Turn and do not chain 1.

Step 1: Slip stitch into the first stitch.

Step 2: Skip the next 3 stitches

Step 3: Place 9 Treble crochets into the next stitch.

Step 4: Skip the next 3 stitches

Step 5: Slip stitch into the last stitch.

Step 6: Rotate the piece to the next side. Instead of placing stitches into stitches of the previous row you will be placing the stitches into the side of the piece.

Step 7: Halfway through the piece place 9 Treble Crochets

Step 8: Slip stitch into the corner of the row.

Step 9: Rotate to the next side.

Step 10: Place 9 single crochet evenly across the row.

Step 11: Chain 1, Place a Single crochet into the same stitch. This is the bottom point of the heart.

Step 10: Rotate to the next side.

Step 11: Place 9 Single Crochet evenly across the side. Join with the first Treble crochet.

Finish off and weave in ends.
