About this Pattern

I love making handmade items for the holidays, especially Christmas. However I’m not fond of something taking forever to make, since it’s only going to be displayed in my house for about a month. This granny square Christmas tree is a pattern that works up fast and is very easy to make! You can make a bunch of these as gifts for yourself and others.

For my sample I’m using 100% worsted weight yarn and a size G 4 mm crochet hook. The Christmas tree part is 100% acrylic and the edging happens to be 100% cotton. It’s fun to mix and match fibers like that.

It’s up to you how you want to connect the pieces together. Since this isn’t going to be tossed in the washing machine and dryer ever, I use hot glue to connect everything. Even with hot glue, I can spot clean or even hand wash an item and the glue still stays together nicely. Feel free to sew the pieces together as well as the corresponding decorations.

As always I have a step-by-step tutorial video showing how to make this granny square tree. Enjoy! Donna Wolfe from Naztazia.
