Three designs are completed right away. Newborn baby hat and Newborn baby booties already placed on the crochet patterns page. Third one is Newborn Baby dress pattern for the Sugar Candy Stripes theme.
If you want to make a sweater from this pattern, I have added the pattern instruction to long sleeves. But I have not tested. Can you guess what is the fourth pattern for the Sugar Candy Stripes theme? There is a clue here somewhere. You can see it in the image below.

Could I use a 3mm instead of 2.25. Would it make a big difference in the size? 20/9/2014 07:51:42 pm
Yes, But I don’t think it’ll make a big big difference in the size. And also it depends on a yarn you have selected. Please follow the pattern gauge and WPI method I did. It will help you to get the real size of the pattern. Have a good day...

You don't say how to make a shell stitch, unless your calling the V stitch a shell. Could u please explain how to make this stitch as there are many ways to make a shell. 20/9/2014 07:43:22 pm
Hi Cathrin. If you look carefully, you will see the explanation of how to crochet v-st, v2tog shell st - 1 and v2tog shell st - 2 under the Special Stitch in the pattern instruction.

Hi. I think she meant that in Row 9 you wrote it as *sk next st, shell st - 1 in next st, sk next st, v-st in next st* but you didn't put the instructions for "shell st - 1" in the notes. I'm also having the same confusion. Did you mean to write v2tog shell-st - 1 instead? 21/9/2014 02:48:22 am
Yes…It was a typing mistake. That stitch wants to be correct as v2tog shell st – 1. I updated row 9 in pattern instruction.

For the shell, I thought you did the 5 dc's, but the dress started to curl and when I looked at the picture, I zoomed in and it didn't look the same. I also want to know what she'll-1 means. 21/9/2014 02:49:54 am

There is no shell st that you meant. v2tog shell st-1 and v2tog shell st-2 made with two v-st together. It's like a shell st, but not shell stitch we have seen. That’s why I put the name “v2tog shell st 1 and 2”. I will add pattern graph to see it clear.

Are you saying to do make number 1 shell and then make the number 2 shell!? 21/9/2014 08:00:57 pm
Yes. v2tog shell st-1 is only used in row 9. After row 9, v2tog shell st-2 is used in each row.

Could you please tell me if the straps go on the front of the dress or the back. 19/10/2014 05:38:01 pm
It’s your choice. You can use as a front side of the dress, or back side of the dress.

I am very confused with the beginning of row 10. It says, "ch 3, sk next dc and ch 2, v2tog shell st - 2" and so forth. However, you don't say where to do the v2tog shell st - 2. Looking at the diagram, I'm wondering why I would not put a v st in the first v st. Do I skip it altogether and start with the v2tog shell st - 2? 1/7/2016 02:32:28 am
Hi Sally,

Thank you for your response! I think where I started having a problem was with row 9. When I chained three, the next instruction was to skip the next stitch. Typically, when turning and chaining three, you skip the "stitch" at the bottom of the chain three. So when I did that and then followed your instruction to "sk next st.....," my row 9 ended with a v-st and only 47 each of the v2tog st-1 and the v-st. I ripped it out and redid it once, thinking I had messed up somewhere along the row, but ended with the same count of 47 each. So I ripped it out again and started in that first stitch. What I ended up doing for row 9 was: With same color, ch3, v2tog-1 in 1st st, sk next st, v-st in next st, and then started the * to * repeat. When I did that, my count was correct. That made row 10 work per your instructions. Comments are closed.
