Crochet Pattern: Chevrons and Stripes Slouchy Hat

I’m releasing a new free crochet pattern every week through December. Each one can be made with 3 skeins of yarn or less, and would make a great gift (for someone else, or as a reward to yourself for all of your holiday crafting!). Today’s pattern is a scrappy striped slouchy beanie. The Chevron and Stripes Slouchy Hat is a gender-neutral design that uses a traveling bobble stitch pattern for the texture. I used three partial skeins, but you can use more or fewer colors for your version.

The Chevrons and Stripes Slouchy Hat is a great stash buster pattern. I used three partial skeins of the lovely Imperial Yarns Erin, a medium weight, sustainable wool yarn made in America. I really enjoyed working with the yarn to create the Chevron Shell Scarf, and I had remnants left over in three different colors.

The pattern uses cluster stitches, also known as bobbles, to create a raised chevron pattern.

You could customize this hat by including more or fewer colors, based on what you have available in your stash, or to suit the preferences of the recipient.
