[Free pattern] Bobble Fingerless Gloves

This is my first pattern, and I was inspired by this pattern, Puff Wrist Warmer. When I did this pattern, I don’t like the puff stitch, so I modified it a bit. I used the cluster stitch from the pattern I found on Red Heart (Lacy Bobble Scarf and Wrister)

I am not a good photographer, so the picture looks weird… Hehehe

My gloves are a little bit long, but you can adjust the length.

Materials

  • Any kind of yarn you like (I use Red Heart Super Saver Team Spirit)
  • Crochet hook (I use K hook, but I am a tight crocheter. You might use smaller hook)
  • Yarn needle (optional)

Gauge

Gauge is not important

Abbreviation

  • Cl (cluster) – [Yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops] 3 times all in same stitch indicated, yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook.
  • sc – single crochet
  • ch – chain

Pattern

Cuff (Make 2)

Ch until you reach your desired length plus one more chain (I chained 16)

Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch around.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in back loops only in each sc around.

Row 3 – 29: Repeat row 2

Row 30 (Seaming row): Ch 1, turn. Fold cuff. Bring first row in front and up to meet last row (right side of cuff is to the outside); working through both thicknesses, inserting hook into front loops across opposite side of foundation chain and back loops of last row, sl st in each stitch across.

You can adjust the cuff by adding more row, but the seaming row has to be on the even row.

Alternate method – Make the cuff following the instructions above until it reach your desired length. Then fold the cuff in half and sew the cuff up.

Body (Make 2)

Working in the side of the ribbed cuff, sc across evenly. How many sc you need is up to you but it must be a factor of 2. Make sure it fit nicely around your wrist. I had 30 sc total. Join with sl st to first sc of this row. Now, you start working in round.

Round 1:  Ch 1, *cl in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc* Repeat * around. Joint with sl st. (I have 15 cl and 15 ch 1 space)

Round 2: Sl st in first ch 1 space. Ch 1, *cl in next ch 1 space, ch 1* Repeat * around. Joint with sl st.

Round 3 – ? (4 for me): Repeat round 2 until you get to the round where you’d like to work your thumb hole. You may want to try it on to see if it reach your thumb.

Thumb hole role: Sl st in first ch 1 space. Ch 1, cl in next ch 1 space, ch 5, skip next ch 1 space, cl in next ch 1 space, ch 1, *cl in next ch 1 space, ch 1* Repeat * around. Join with sl st.

Round 5: Sl st in ch 5 space. cl, ch 1, cl, ch 1 all in ch 5 space, *cl in next ch 1 space, ch 1* Repeat * around. Join with sl st.

Round 6 – ? (Round 9 for me): Repeat round 2 until you reach wherever you want the top of the gloves to end

Round 10: Sc in each stitch across. I have 30 sc. Joint with sl st (If you want, you can use invisible join). Fasten off.
